Sunset Sports Media Festival, a unique project that brings together top athletes and prominent sports experts from the fields of media, marketing and business is headed full steam toward its third installment after the first two successful editions. From June 6 to 8, 2024, the audience is going to be in for even more attractive content and a star-studded line-up awaiting them in Zadar. In the past two years, the Sunset Sports Media Festival had the pleasure of hosting top international sports experts, such as football legend Peter Schmeichel, multiple Super Bowl winners Julian Edelman and Ray Lewis, Stephen Espinoza, the president of Showtime Sports, Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, hosts of the most popular basketball podcast “All the Smoke”, Pete Radovich, vice president and creative director of CBS Sports, Miško Ražnatović, basketball power agent, Zoran Primorac and John Palfrey from the International Olympic Committee, sports and business stars Mario Ančić, Darijo Srna, Gordan Giriček, world sailing icon Robby Naish, as well as world-renowned sports journalists and presenters Diletta Leotta, Kate Abdo and Cindy Marina.

All of the previously mentioned is why the strategic partnership with Sofascore, a domestic company that operates globally and developed one of the world’s most successful applications for monitoring and analyzing sports results, came as a logical continuation.

“Sofascore is in a very specific place on the market, we are essentially an IT company, and sport is what drives us and breathes life into an application that millions of people around the world use and love. Already at the first participation in the Sunset Sports Media Festival, we realized that the visions of the festival ideally aligned with our visions. Through conversations with the organizers, we confirmed this and reached a conclusion that this partnership is an ideal match for both parties. With this kind of alliance, our idea is to connect two positive Croatian stories that bring together the biggest professional athletes and experts from the world of sports media, marketing and business on a global level,” said Sofascore co-founder Ivan Bešlić and added that they have already come up with numerous new ideas that will raise the festival to a new level.

This collaboration has all the potential to be a perfect match given that Sofascore users come from all over the world, and among them are top professional athletes, their coaches and managers, as well as wider teams and entities operating in the sports business, and this is exactly the audience that the Sunset Sports Media Festival wants to gather in Zadar with the intention of jointly building one of the world’s largest sports festivals.

Zadar, as one of the sportiest and most beautiful cities in Croatia, proved to be the perfect host for the first two editions of the Sunset Sports Media Festival. In the past two years, this project has become a globally recognizable event that has been recognized by numerous world media outlets and marked Croatia with a particularly bright color when talking about sports business, sports media and top athletes. In addition to one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines, which is already visited by many celebrities during their vacations, the festival provides one more reason to connect business with leisure, at the unique meeting place connected through sports.

“The news from the conference resonated all over the world and it is a truly fantastic promotion of Zadar that can only positively influence the further development of the city and tourism. I also want to thank the Tourist Board of the City of Zadar, the City of Zadar, Zadar County and the Croatian Tourist Board for their support,” said Damjan Rudež, director of the Sunset Sports Media Festival and a former professional basketball player, adding that the third edition of the Festival will maintain a similar concept as the previous two, with as much coverage as possible of the most interesting and current topics from the world of media and sports, as well as the most relevant speakers from the world of sports and sports business, both from the regional and from the international scene.

At the end of his statement, Rudež concluded that we can expect the first significant names for the Festival in 2024 to be announced very soon.
